What is day trading?

Day trading is the short-term, speculative trading of securities and other financial instruments.

Stocks, foreign currencies (Forex), futures, or derivatives are typically traded here. Trading positions are opened and closed within the same trading day. The goal is to profit from even small price fluctuations. Day traders often use technical chart analysis, e.g., with the help of indicators, to identify certain tendencies or trends. Day trading often involves high leverage. Day trading is usually worthwhile in volatile markets.
