What is an Expert Advisor?

In general, an Expert Advisor (also called an EA) is an extension of a trading platform, such as MetaTrader, that includes a semi- or fully automated trading system. The EA independently analyzes the market and places trades according to its trading strategy. In the MetaTrader platform, you'll find the "Expert Advisors" item in the Navigator area. Here, existing Expert Advisors can be activated by dragging and dropping them into open chart windows.
